Tigard Public Library has partnered with the Washington County Cooperative Library Service (WCCLS) to bring no-contact holds pickup lockers to the Tigard community. The two-year pilot project will allow Library patrons to place their holds online or by phone, then pick up their books, movies, or other materials just inside the Library lobby.
The new installation holds 79 lockers in a variety of sizes. On weekdays, the lockers are available an hour earlier than other library services- opening at 9:00 AM Monday through Friday. They are the first holds pickup lockers offered in Washington County. Anyone with a WCCLS library card will be able to reserve items for pickup at the lockers. Readers will select “Tigard Lockers” as the pickup location when placing a hold.
The lockers are part of a two-year pilot project in partnership with the WCCLS. The project was funded by an American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) grant and the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, and will be tracked to inform the development of future Library services in Tigard and throughout Washington County.
