Whether at home or at work, Tigard is committed to recycling through a variety of programs. Recycling programs are designed to meet the needs of household customers and small to large businesses. Ensuring that waste is discarded properly not only saves time and money, but keeps our city clean.
The Proposal:Recently customers expressed their desire for increased yard debris collection by our franchise haulers. Yard debris haulers are able to increase the service level to a weekly collection. But this change does come at a higher cost for all customers, about $2 to $3 monthly. This fee would also include a compost recycling service.
Previous suggestions included changing both the mixed recycling collection and yard debris schedules to avoid rate increases. However, due to anticipated changes from Metro, a schedule switch is not feasible.
