Update: Community and Teammate Survey Results Reimagine the Library Technology Room

The results are in from community and library teammate surveys that challenged participants to reimagine the Library Technology Room! The surveys were a step toward our goal to create a well-used, flexible space that meets the needs and interests of the Tigard community.

Both surveys revealed the same three priorities:

  • Reservable meeting space with virtual and hybrid capabilities
  • Equipment and tools to support creative projects
  • Software and technology for creativity

The project team noted that knowledgeable staff support is essential in being able to provide the tools and equipment for the community to be able to experiment and learn. Many library teammates shared their skillsets in the internal survey, as well as identifying the needs they encountered while working with the community.

Furniture, tools, and technology were selected to align with the priorities for the space. The project is taking a phased approach that would allow for the launch of the space as a reservable meeting room on an accelerated timeline. Additional creative tools and flexible technology could then be added to build upon the utility of the space.
