Did You Know?

The Americans with Disabilities Act is a civil rights act signed into law in 1990 by President George HW Bush.

In the process of having our facilities evaluated, almost 3,000 curbs were measured, public spaces in 9 buildings were evaluated and 20 parks were evaluated.

The ADA applies to existing or new sidewalks and curb ramps. However, it doesn’t require an agency to put in sidewalks where none exist.

Hall Blvd and Pacific Hwy are under the jurisdiction of the Oregon Department of Transportation. That state agency is responsible for removing curb ramp or sidewalk barriers along those roads.

The ADA defines a service animal as a dog, or sometimes a small horse, individually trained to do work or perform tasks for the benefit of an individual with a disability.
