Bagan Park is a future neighborhood park located off Greenburg Road near SW Cascade Ave. The property was purchased in 2013 with funding from the 2010 Park Bond. A conceptual plan has been created to guide the development of the park. Some of the key findings of the plan include:

  • There are three dominant traits of the site: a small grove of mature deciduous trees, an open meadow, and the Ash Creek stream corridor with its associated pond and wetlands.
  • About an acre of this 8.25-acre future neighborhood park could be developed. The rest of the site, which comprises a small creek and wetlands, will remain green space.
  • The site is best suited for small group activities and passive recreation.

Funding has become available through the 2019 Metro Parks and Open Space Bond, which will allow Tigard to complete a detailed design of the park. This means the park can be bid on and constructed in 2028- 2029. The City of Tigard is working with GreenWorks to develop a design for the future neighborhood park.

    Great questions! 

    Our team is working to finalize the designs based on the feedback received in the fall. We hope to have the finalized early designs soon. The project has been postponed until 2028 due to another project taking place in the area. Clean Water Services is in the process of finalizing a project that will go through the Bagan Park property. After much discussion, the team working on Bagan Park decided it would be best to delay the project until the other project is completed. We did not want to add new paths and amenities only to have them removed when the other project begins.
