    Gov. Brown issued a Declaration of Emergency which expanded the authority of Oregon Health Authority (OHA) and the Office of Emergency Management (OEM) to devote all available state resources to contain the spread of COVID-19 in Oregon. Gov. Brown continues to oversee the state’s actions, issuing executive orders focused on controlling the spread of the coronavirus, promoting public health measures, and protecting vulnerable populations.

    On March 23, the Governor issued Executive Order 20-12, effective immediately until further notice telling Oregonians to stay home except for essential needs. This is a statewide order. Failure to comply with the order will be considered an immediate danger to public health. Here’s a list of what is and what is not allowed:  

    Allowed  (must keep 6 feet from others)

      Hospitals and health care

      Grocery stores

      Banks and Credit Unions

      Pharmacies

      Take-out/delivery from restaurants and bars

      Pet stores

      Gas stations

      Certain retail stores

      Outdoor activities like walking your dog, jogging, or biking in your neighborhood

      Child care facilities and babysitters (only if abiding by new rules)

    Not Allowed

      Social gatherings (parties, celebrations) with people from outside of your household

      Dine-in restaurants and bars

      Nightclubs and concerts

      Shopping at outdoor or indoor malls and retail complexes

      Fitness: Gyms, sports and fitness centers, health clubs, and exercise studios, dance and yoga studios

      Grooming: Hair salons, barbershops, nail salons, day spas and massage services, non-medical wellness spas, cosmetic stores, tattoo parlors

      Entertainment: Theaters, amusement parks, arcades, bowling alleys, music concerts, sporting events, museums, skating rinks

      Outdoors: State parks, playgrounds, campgrounds, pools, skate parks, festivals

    The objectives of the ECC are as follows:

      Ensure the healthcare system has the capacity to respond to surges across the continuum of care.

      Keep Oregon children and families safe.

      Ensure timely and accurate information is provided in a transparent way to allow Oregonians to make the best decisions they can for themselves and their families.

      Sustain Oregon businesses and keep the economy healthy.

      Minimize disruption to critical state services.

      Provide support to Oregon’s cities, counties and tribal governments.

    You are not required to cancel. Moving companies may continue to operate. Follow physical distancing. We strongly recommend self-isolating when you arrive at your destination to not put others at risk.

    Yes. You should maintain physical distancing on your way home, and then you will be subject to the limitations in this Executive Order. If you prefer to stay at your current location, you are encouraged to follow this Executive Order while outside of Oregon in order to protect yourself and others.

    Yes. Be sure that you protect them and you by following physical distancing guidelines such as washing hands before and after, using hand sanitizer, maintaining at least 6 feet of distance when possible, and coughing or sneezing into a tissue.

    City Council continues to meet virtually. 



    The community is encouraged to livestream the meetings at https://www.tigard-or.gov/city_hall/council_meeting.php. Public comment can be submitted via email or mail. Details coming....

    Virtual chats with the Mayor and City Council will be scheduled in March and April.

    Mayor Snider declared a local emergency at 8:17 a.m. on Monday, March 16. The resolution notes "the City of Tigard will temporarily waive all late fees and shutoff actions for utility accounts accruing as of the Mayor’s declaration of emergency and continuing until the expiration of the emergency.

    The Utility Billing counter and drop box locations are closed and customers are asked to use the on-line and phone payment options to make utility bill payments. Our free Pay-by-Phone line and online payment options are available 24 hours a day. Please call 1-888-826-7211 or visit https://tigard.merchanttransact.com/ to make payment with a Visa, Mastercard, or Discover credit or debit card.
