Tigard MADE aims to Maintain, Advance, & Diversify Employment in Tigard. This project looks at our employment lands – where we work, play, and eat – and asks what can we do better?

That’s where you come in – whether you’re a business owner, developer, or community member in Tigard, we want to hear from you!

The focus of this project is on encouraging job growth, economic equity, and environmental sustainability through updates to our Development Code, which sets the regulations for where uses can locate and how things can be built.

We need to hear from you!

  • About Tigard MADE

Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Linkedin Email this link

This project aims to promote job growth, economic equity, and environmental sustainability by...

    • Expanding and modernizing allowed uses:

Allowing for more area-wide mixed-use development could encourage greater job density and better accommodate alternative forms of transportation, like biking and public transit.

    • Building flexibility into development standards:

The project will identify land use regulations that act as barriers to entry for small business owners, communities of color, and other marginalized communities seeking to open and operate businesses in Tigard. It will build flexibility into development standards to overcome or remove these barriers, and to incentivize eco-friendly development.

    • Consolidating zones:

The project will refine definitions, boundaries, and allowed uses in each zone in order to maximize clarity and encourage development that is the best fit for each part of the city.
