Universal Plaza

Meet Ruth

I have been a resident of Tigard for 35 years. I just loved the Park Passport program so much; it really opened my eyes to Tigard. One of my favorite parts was all the neighborhood parks. The City has done such a great job with incorporating parks in these new housing developments. My favorite neighborhood park was Sabrina Park where there was a city park and a neighborhood pool where kids could come and play. I think that is so important.

I use Cook park every day to walk for an hour and a half. It is such a magical place. You can walk on trails through the forest and then be walking along the river or around play structures and sports field. There is so much going on. And the park staff are fabulous. They are out there every day keeping the park pristine. Constantly refurbishing trails and keeping everything looking great. They are all so friendly.

A note from Parks:

Ruth is also interested to see how Universal Plaza turns out. Universal Plaza will provide the first splashpad in Tigard. Ruth hopes the area around the new plaza can be developed so more children and families have easy access to the splashpad and plaza.
