Winding alongside Red Rock Creek the proposed 2-mile trail will be an attractive and accessible addition to Tigard’s impressive trail system, providing an off-street active transportation alternative to Pacific Hwy between Hall Blvd and I-5.

Designed as a multi-use trail, Red Rock Creek Trail will be accessible to all users and will include interpretive viewpoints of the Red Rock Creek natural area. When completed, it will significantly enhance the quality of life for all Tigard residents.

Trail Segment #4: Railroad Bridge Crossing

We are seeking your feedback on the 30% design of the railroad bridge crossing. The final design aims to provide accommodations for pedestrians, runners, bicyclists and other non-motorized trail users.

The bridge will provide enhanced and equitable public access to transit, parks, active recreation, library services and other civic and commercial use downtown for those living and working nearby, including residents of 264 new units of affordable housing adjacent to the project.

This bridge is the first project of the Red Rock Creek Trail Implementation Plan which supports the City’s Strategic Plan to be an equitable community that is walkable, healthy and accessible to everyone. The Railroad bridge crossing will fill a gap in the regional trail system, linking Fanno Creek Trail with the Tigard Lake Oswego Regional trail.

Funding: In 2020, the City was awarded a grant from Metro for alignment planning and design of the two-mile length of the Trail, including Trail Segment #4.

Location: Trail Segment #4 would start in the Hunziker Industrial area to the north with access from the new Wall Street, cross the railroad on a multi-use bridge, and land to the south connecting with the Fanno Creek Trail and Tigard Public Library.
