What is Tigard HOME?
Tigard HOME (Housing, Opportunity, Mobility, and Ease) is a new planning project that aims to provide community members with more options for entertainment, employment, amenities, services, and housing. We're still in the very beginning stages. Before we get started, we need to hear from you!

Want to sign up for our Community Advisory Committee?
We'll be forming a Community Advisory Committee (CAC) to work with staff throughout this project and ensure that the end result meets community needs. Being a part of the CAC will likely mean quarterly meetings via Teams or in person near City Hall, plus email communication and document review. Being a part of the CAC is a direct and important way to make your voice heard!

An environmentally clean refill store.
On the Eastside of Portland there is a shop that people can go to for refilling their household cleaning type items with their owns containers. This eliminates more plastics in our environment. I would love to find a place here for this!

Bike Repair Shop / Co-op
Tigard needs a Fanno Creek Adjacent bike shop / coop where where people could buy bikes and accessories, but also get repairs done. A place where people could hang out, rent repair stands, works on bicycle projects, meet new riding buddies, organize rides, etc.

Better dining and entertainment
I have lived in Tigard for 10 years. In those 10 years I have seen no improvement in the dining and entertainment areas. I would hope that with all of the new housing with retail that something of interest would move in. We have enough burgers, brew pubs, coffee, mediocre others, chain and fast food restaurants in Tigard. We are so close to the wine country, we should have things that attract those coming to and from. If one wants delicious more adventurous dining experiences you have to travel to the east side or into the wine country. It’s a shame.

Grocery
I mean, people need food, grocery stores have them, yet downtown Tigard doesn't (Rite Aid doesn't count let's be honest). Hard to build any sense of community where everyone's most basic need is inherently outsourced further into the suburbs (with unreliable and unrealistic public transport options).

Food, seeds, plants and handmade items
I would love to be able to have a small stand up year round where I could sell/share seasonal items.

I would love to be able to provide haircuts from my garage, but I'm not sure if regulations currently allow me to do that...

More connection, people helping people, interactive things like little free libraries/seed libraries, etc.
Sharing and/or bartering our strengths. Connecting with our neighbors and checking on them, helping them in times of need. I would LOVE to see small "farm stands" in neighbor's yards and walk our own little neighborhood "farmers market!"
