What is Tigard HOME?

Tigard HOME (Housing, Opportunity, Mobility, and Enterprise) is a long-range planning project that aims to provide community members with more options for entertainment, employment, amenities, services, and housing. Tigard HOME is working to create vibrant neighborhoods where it's easy for everyone, regardless of mobility needs, to get to homes, shops and services. With help from community input, expert advice, and proven planning approaches, the City will recommend updates to the Tigard Development Code, which is the set of rules that guide how and where things are built. We need to hear from you!

  • Home Occupation Survey

    Tigard HOME (Housing, Opportunity, Mobility, and Enterprise) is a long-range planning project that is focused on creating vibrant neighborhoods where it’s easy for everyone, regardless of mobility needs, to get to homes, shops, and services.

    Based on community input, the City Council will consider updates to the Tigard Development Code. This code regulates where businesses can operate and how new buildings look. The goal of these updates is to increase access to shops and services in Tigard’s residential neighborhoods.

    One important change being considered are updates to the regulations on home businesses in the Home Occupations Chapter to better support businesses in neighborhoods while minimizing impacts to neighbors.

    As a home business owner, we want to hear from you about your experience permitting and operating a home business and your thoughts on any changes to home business requirements. Please complete this short survey to help us better serve you as a home business operator!
