John Oliverio was looking for a new adventure after a successful career in the tech industry. In January, he and his wife, Shirley, purchased Lugano Cafe & Catering (18041 S.W. Lower Boones Ferry Road, Tigard; 503-430-8097; luganocafecatering.com), a popular breakfast and lunch bistro near Bridgeport Village. Just as John and Shirley were getting acquainted with the business, the pandemic hit – forcing all restaurants to close or readjust quickly. Rather than calling it quits, John took this opportunity to temporarily close his doors and spruce up the menu and the interior. Learn more here

Coming June 1, those able to "style" you in Phase 1, will be required to practice a more doctor-like intake, to assure no spread between clients. Since we have all saved on at least 2-4 haircuts, let's show them some support for all of that lost revenue.

As businesses begin to contemplate what will be needed to safely reopen, local 3D printing company Rapidmade has begun manufacturing and selling reusable face shields and masks equipped with replacement filters. Although not formally certified, the masks are designed to function much like n95 respirators.
